| Maxell Establishes Office in Chennai, India |
Hitachi Maxell, Ltd. is pleased to announce that Maxell Singapore, a 100% subsidiary of the Maxell Group,
will establish an office on September 26th in Chennai (formerly Madras), India’s fourth largest
city, located in the southeastern part of India.
Consumption in the Indian market has
grown in recent years due to an increase in the national income level, and continued growth is expected
into the future. To date, the Maxell Group has utilized Singapore as a base for sales in India. The
new office in Chennai, a major city in the Indian economy, will serve as a sales promotion and marketing
hub for Maxell B-to-B products including computer tapes, optical media, and micro-batteries, as well
as for consumer products, with further growth intended in the company’s Indian business.
