RoHS Directive and Batteries

Since July 1, 2006, the RoHS (Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances) Directive for electrical and electronic equipment has been effective. It states that this directive should apply without prejudice to community legislation on safety and health requirements and specific community waste management legislation, in particular council directive 91/157/EEC (European Battery Directives, Revised on 2006/66/EC of the European parliament and of the council of 6 September 2006) of 18 March 1991 on batteries and accumulators containing certain dangerous substances.
All batteries which comply with European Battery Directives are exempt from RoHS Directives. European Battery Directives are applied to all Maxell batteries.
Therefore, all Maxell batteries are exempt from RoHS Directives.
